I Shall Call You Garfunkel
Any day that I get to blog is a good day, but sundays are an especially good day! This is what I wore to church today, so I mean I guess this was my outfit for the day. I think most people don't understand why I enjoy taking pictures of my self and what I wear. But the thing is that this is me. I love clothes. I love putting clothes together and telling a story with what I wear. In all honesty its just one of the many ways I've learned to express myself. I don't have a bunch of expensive clothes or think I'm the most fashionable person on the face of the earth, but I just like sharing what I like. Most college students or people my age just walk to class every day in sweat pants and t shirts. And there is nothing wrong with that, but I like to have fun and be different. This is me. Take it or leave it.
Whew, sorry but I've felt like I needed to defend myself after some people have questioned why I do what I do on this blog. This is my space and I think that if other people want to question the purpose of this blog. I'm a creative individual and I enjoy sharing what inspires me and maybe I'll be able to inspire others.
So now on to the clothing section of the blog, here's my lovely ensemble today. This is my new favorite dress for sure! Although we all know I don't need another polka dotted dress or piece of clothing for that matter. But there is something awfully cheery about a polka dot print. Am I right, or am I right?
Also, I'm pretty sure that I've worn these boots almost every single day since I bought them. Now my other boots look boring to me. Looks like I need to be on the hunt for some new shoes to be obsessed with....

Why Does It Always Rain On Me?
Welcome to second semester. A semester that makes blogging nearly impossible! For one thing, my schedule is drastically different and I'm finding it hard to make time for the blog. And for another thing, the stylin look I've mostly been sporting these days is the ever popular leotard+ tights+ coat look. Not blog worthy I promise. Anyways, so I'm sorry dear readers (of which there are very few I know) I'm doing the best I can!
Of course its raining today...so I'm not wearing a rain jacket. I know, I have the worst logic ever. I just never want to wear my rain jacket when its actually raining. So then I get crazy hair like this. I'm aptly calling it the "wet dog look." Just you wait folks, its gonna be a trend on college campuses all over the country soon!

Merry Christmas...in January?
So I'm going back to school today! Classes don't start until Monday, but I want to get there unpack, prepare for class, and catch up with my friends. So for my gorgeous girlfriends I knew I had to come back with a cute crafty late Christmas gift. Thus, the journal idea. My mom had these journals on hand and I decided to spice them up!
Much cuter don't you think?!
Each book has the heart cut from scrapbook paper and the initial of the girl who is receiving the gift. Then I wrote Romans 12:2 around the first page.
I also made some in red too! I think these will be perfect for photo albums, small scrapbooks, art journals, writing...whatever fits their fancy. I'm so pleased with how they turned out!

Crafting Gone Wrong
See this adorable squirrel from a glove tutorial. Well, I tried it and it was a complete fail.
Halfway through my squirrel looked like a voo doo doll. Maybe I'm just a bad crafter (nah!) but this pinterest craft was a complete disaster.

A Few of My Favorite Things
I've got lots of favs this week...
Camping is a year long favorite, but I just thought this print was super fun. I'm also anxiously waiting to see if I'll be rehired at NaCoMe fingers crossed!!! I just love camping, kids, and Jesus!
Bike + Twinkle Lights = AMAZING!!! I can't wait till the weather is nice enough for me to ride my bike again!
This is perfect.
I told my sister, "Do you think I could ask for an iphone and these shorts for my birthday?" They are that cute! Basically I need them!
Cameron Mitchell is always a favorite! But seriously Cameron, I wish YOU were here.
My Aunt posted this on pinterest and it seriously made my day! I'm still chuckling...
Sometimes I have funny guilty pleasures. Like my new found love for Keeping Up With the Kardashians. It all stemmed from those days that I never left my house and the only thing on tv were the Kardashian wedding specials. Now I'm obsessed. Oh my!
And to finish everything out...here's a little more Brooke Fraser. I'm slightly obsessed---especially with this song cause its so lovely!
Reading is For Awesome People
I think somewhere along the way of this break I stopped reading. I used to read all the time but lately it seems I'm more involved with my blog, pinterest, and facebook. Now that we have WiFi in the house its nearly impossible for me to get anything done without being distracted by the internet. So, I've decided something has to change. I'm going to post this post and then my favorite things post and after that my computer will be closed for the night. I need to catch up on my reading and find myself again.
So here's what I'm currently reading. I'm only 100 pages in and my sister says it doesn't get interesting until after the first 200 pages. Oh boy! Well, it may be slow now, but I'm expecting great things. Wildwood is a children's book but it is written by Colin Meloy, the singer for the Decemberists. Its received a lot of praise so I'm hoping it will be awesome. Anyways happy reading!

Lets Pretend
Lets just pretend that today is Monday and I didn't forget to post the weekly Music Monday pic. Actually lets just proclaim today Tunes Tuesday! There ya go! I've been so confused lately about what day it is since I've been home. Oh well, hope this song puts a smile on your face! It always cheers me up! Brooke Fraser everyone...

Power in the Blood
I have to admit I feel a little weird posting this outfit because its what I wore to my great grandaddy's funeral today. I feel petty for my desires to show off my dress, when really today I thought very little about what I wore and more about my family. So, this is what it is. This is what I wore. I love this dress, but that's not what's important. My family is what is important. We all said goodbye to Grandaddy today, but you know what, he's having way more fun than any of us. He's up partying with Jesus. He no longer hurts and can now remember everything and I'm so happy for him. He left behind an incredible legacy--a marriage of almost 72 years. And that is something we will all remember forever.
So here are my petty stupid remarks about my outfit...

Go Outside!!!
I realized this week, that I heavily rely on the same titles for my posts, so I've decided from now on to try to mix it up! With that being said...I'M GETTING OUT OF THE HOUSE!!! I realized last night that I had not left the house since Tuesday! And even then, I was going from being stuck babysitting to being stuck at my own home! So now I'm breaking free!
Outfit Details:
Fleece: Target
Sweater: Forever 21
Jeans: New York and Co.
Boots: Clarks
Glasses: Ray Bans
We are driving to Dickson for my mom to pick up some art and I'm tagging along. There is a great coffee shop downtown that we love to go to, so I'm stoked! Anyways, today's look is pretty casual and comfy. Mostly because I've been trying to wear things I haven't worn lately. Oh! I almost forgot to talk about this fleece jacket! I got it at the beginning of the break at Target for $5! I know, I was shocked. I am obsessed with the color. Its one of those colors that most people hate, but I love. Its kind of a green kind of a gold. People probably think its a puke color, but I don't care I think its great!
Oh my trusty striped sweater! I saw this lone black and white striped sweater at Forever 21 last year and snatched it up immediately. It was not in the right place and I couldn't find more of them, but I took it anyways despite it being too big for me. But I've gotten so much wear out of it and I kind of like how big and baggy it fits.
Well, that's all folks! Glad I could bring you an outfit post after DAYS of wearing pjs!
And in case you were wondering the inspiration behind the title of this post, here it is...

Clearly I'm Bored
So, today we've discovered that there is something wrong with Scout, my beloved Sheltie. My friend Dillon pointed out that one of his eyes was kind of swollen, but we just thought that was normal. But in the last week its continued to get puffier and now it looks like he has one open eye and one squinty eye. We are a little concerned, but we aren't going to stress out about it too much. My great grandaddy died this week, so we feel like we can't accept another possible death for a while. So to keep things light, I did a little photo booth with Scout and the above picture is the humorous result. I'm trying to laugh at the situation, but I'm going to pray that he's fine. That's all we can do at this point.

A Few of My Favorite Things
When I'm at home I find it incredibly difficult to remember what day it is or even the time. Maybe this is because I have reached the point of no return where I am stranded at the house in my pjs forced to watch bad television i.e. all of the Kardashian wedding specials. But here I am, remembering that it is indeed Wednesday which means its time to share a few of my favorite things.
This one is kind of funny because it actually needs a great deal of explaining. But this favorite thing is driving, hence the car pic. I don't know if this is necessarily a favorite thing, but its been something I've been working on lately. You see dear world, I am 18 years old and I can't drive. Yes, this is true. I am a TERRIBLE driver but this week, I took the plunge and tried to get better. Now all I need is a lot of practice and a heap of encouragement. One day this will all be behind me and I'll take the subway in Chicago.
I'm not really a Ryan Gosling fan, but I absolutely adore these photos that have been circulating the web lately. They are really just too funny!
You see this gorgeous plaid retro inspired bathing suit? Yeah, well I want it!!! I mean, I really really want it. I have two one piece retro suits and I would love to add this to my collection. Plus, its plaid. And darling. And $89 sheesh!
And lastly I would like to share this song by My Morning Jacket. I'm not normally a huge fan of theirs but I have to hand it to them, this album is pretty darn amazing! I bought this album on vinyl after listening to it several times on Spotify and it certainly does not disappoint. So give the title song a listen and judge for yourself dear readers (of which there are barely any, but who cares!).

What I Wore Today
Sorry I've been a little M.I.A. lately on the blog, but last week I had friends from school in and this weekend/ beginning of the week I babysat for my friend's brothers. But I'm back! Anyways, after I did that post on vintage etsy dresses I thought I'd show the dress I just got in the mail.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Etsy
Tights: JcPenny
Boots: Steve Madden
I love the colors of this plaid dress! Its perfect for the fall but I think I'll be able to style it for the winter as well. Sorry the lighting is so bad, I'm still trying to figure out how to do outfit posts at home.

Music Mondays!
Over the weekend my friends from college and I had a little music exchange. Madeline gave me this Jens Lekman album and I have been hooked since. I. LOVE. THIS. SONG. I mean, seriously I adore this song. Just listen to it please!
Etsy Favorites
So a few weeks ago I bought a gorgeous vintage dress on etsy and ever since then I thought that I would like to show some of my favorite vintage etsy finds. I've bought a few vintage clothing items off etsy and I've found it to be a wonderful resource for finding interesting pieces for a good price. Sometimes vintage clothing on etsy can be quite pricey but every once and a while you can find that perfect piece for a good deal. So here are some of my current etsy favorites...
I love this dress! Its so sunny and adorable! I tend to buy more dresses in this sort of 1950/60's fit and flare shape because its extremely flattering. I think anyone could pull off this look because it defines your waist and makes you look more feminine. Its $60 which is a pretty good deal for this type of dress and the shipping is under $5.

This dress is a looker for sure. Its got a gorgeous neckline would be a perfect spring dress. And at $32 who could say no?!
Now this dress is a definitely on the pricey side, but its so unique. Plus I'm a sucker for polka dots! But what I love about this dress is the combination of the peter pan collar and the smocking on the top. This allows it to fit better. I'm constantly searching for vintage clothing that will fit smaller sizes. Most of the things I love are in plus sizes which doesn't fit me. But this dress is a for sure a winner!
Oh be still my heart! This dress is spectacular! I mean, I have very few words to describe how perfect this dress is! I'm in love with both the detail and the shape of this mod dress. Talk about a perfect summer look.
So there we have a nice little collection of vintage etsy finds that I adore. To see more, check out my etsy favorites here.

What's In My Bag!
So here's my gorgeous kelly green bag! Although it looks true to color in the second photo more than this one. Ah well. Anyways, I always read other blogger's what's in my bag post and thought it might be fun to do one of my own!
Bag: Anthropologie
Contents: Instax Wide, Disposable camera, my glasses, sunglasses, sunglasses case from antro, strawberry lip salve, various lipsticks, wallet, ipod classic, and the jankiest phone you will ever meet.
I don't carry anything terribly exciting but who cares anyways.
I don't think I've ever mentioned anything about my instax before. I know everyone in the blogging world has them, but I still think they are cool. Everyone knows that I am terrible about taking pictures (hence why I don't own a real camera) but I thought this fun polaroid like camera would encourage me to take more pics. Plus its a major throwback to childhood! Way fun.
