Music Mondays! A Tad Bit Late

So, due to the final performance of my show I forgot to post my Music Monday's post. And now its 1:17 in the morning and here I am sharing some of my favorite tunes. Seriously, Sufjan is one of my favorites.  A lot of people didn't like this album, because it is so different from his previous work, but I'm in love with it. This is the first song on the album and I think its absolutely entrancing. Enjoy!

Make Out Girl and Other Stories

Outfit Details:
Shirt: New York and Co.
Shorts: Urban Outfitters
Tights: JcPenny
Shoes: Clarks
Sweater: Old Navy
Bag: Gifted/Thrifted

I'm back today with a less than exciting outfit post, but its a post nonetheless. Last night was the opening night of my show, Women and Wallace and it went really really well. The show is about one man and his various encounters with women in his life and how his mother's suicide affected those relationships. I'm playing Wendy, who serves as a drunk hook up buddy that he cheats on his girlfriend with. Basically I'm playing a character that is the COMPLETE opposite of myself. Also, its been a challenge because the guy is my best friend Isaac and we've had to get over the horror of making out with each other. Stage kisses are funny, but they are even funnier when you have to share them with someone that you are really close to. We just have one more show tonight and then the show is over!

Now enough about my play...can we just admire this gorgeous kelly green bag that I have recently acquired?! My friends, the Easterday sisters, thrifted this bag and gave it to me for my birthday. I have been obsessed with it because its the perfect size and its my favorite color. What a great gift! Anyways, I hope everyone's day is lovely!

Alleyways and Pay Phone Calls

I'm currently in this weird clothing funk, where every outfit I come up with just ends up looking blah and kind of boring. Not very me. But I'm hoping it gets better when spring time comes and I can play around with some new outfits and such.

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Target
Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Tights: JcPenny
Scarf: Forever21
Shoes: Clarks

Tonight is final dress rehearsal for my show, Women and Wallace. I'm so excited! Well, I hope everyone had a good weekend!

A Few Of My Favorite Things

For those who are new to my blog, I'll introduce to you this lovely feature that tries to make an appearance once a week. I like to showcase a few of my favorite things that I've been loving in the week. Mostly these are just things I'm adoring on pinterest, but sometimes I just share some of my favorite things in general. Enjoy lovelies!

I am obsessed with this look! With spring just around the corner, I'm itching to pull out my spring and summer clothes. But its just too cold! So I was so inspired to find this gal rocking spring clothes in the winter.

I'm taking Art Appreciation this semester and was quite delighted by this piece by Sandy Skoglund! Squirrels are my favorite don't you know!
I'm obsessed with these glasses from JCrew. They are way out of my price range, but a girl can dream can't she!

I'm just in love with everything about this picture.

Every year I say that I want a trench coat, but I've yet to find the perfect one. This, however, makes me want to search some more. Also I'm in love with the colored tights. I rock this look frequently and its always nice to see the colored tight look done right.

I had to write a paper about the French Revolution for my Western Civ class this week, so of course I had to watch Marie Antoinette! Is anyone else in love with this movie? It may not be the most historically accurate movie, but it sure does wonders for the eyes. Madeline-my roommate- and I were gushing earlier about how much we adore this movie!

An Oklahoma Hello

Tonight I ushered for our school's production of Rodger and Hammerstein's Oklahoma. We had to wear black and white, so this was the spiffy look I came up with for the occasion. It was very Zooey inspired, don't you think?

Outfit Details:
Shirt: Forever 21
Skirt: JcPenny
Tights: JcPenny
Shoes: Steve Madden

I think its safe to say that this is my favorite skirt I own. I mean, it gets the most action out of all my skirts. I think its so easy to dress up or dress down. And that's the best part of clothes right? The possibilities each piece brings to the table. This is one of those such pieces of clothing that lends itself to many occasions.

Oh and I HAD to rock the red lip. After all, I am a theatre major...I had to add a little drama! Happy Weekend folks!

Drama Llama

Well good morning readers! I have a few new folks seeing the blog these days because of the Modsquad, which is all very exciting! I feel a little bit like I need to explain a little more about myself to my new readers!
First things first, I'm in college and I mostly use this blog to document what I wear to class (if I have time to post, this semester has been super hectic), my favorite things, and just general musings and crafty adventures. I don't have a camera, so all the pictures you see here are horrible mac book photos. So, I apologize in advance. Hope you enjoy getting to know a little more about me!

 Outfit Details:
Dress- Target
Tights- JcPenny
Belt- Forever 21
Shoes- Clarks
Can we just examine the length of my hair for a moment?! Today its like I woke up and it grew 6 inches longer! Craziness!

Well, that's all folks! Hope you enjoyed this quickie somewhat boring outfit of the day!

Sometimes I Get A Good Feeling

Yay! I was able to sneak in a little outfit post for today! I just know that today is going to be a good day. Really I don't feel like it is going to be, but I think that if I just keep telling myself that it is I actually believe the day will turn around.

Outfit Details:
Shirt- JcPenny
Skirt- Target
Tights- JcPenny
Socks- JcPenny
Shoes- Clarks

I injured my toe yesterday...long story, you just don't want to know...so today my feet are happy in my clarks. I needed to wear some shoes that would protect my toe and keep my comfortable at the same time.

Music Mondays!

Everyone know that MIKA song "Grace Kelly" right? Well, this weekend, I watched Monte Carlo with my sister (don't judge, it was cute) and I noticed there were a lot of MIKA songs featured...thus prompting a two day obsession with the band. So here's a little fun, poppy MIKA for your music mondays pleasure.

Owl Always Love You

Soooo....I went home this weekend which can only mean one thing...CRAFTS! I made this cutie patootie owl ipod case this afternoon and I'm in love with it!

Its not perfect (I don't have enough patience) but I kind of like that its a little uneven and the stitching is a little wonky. This was a super easy craft! I mean, most of it was just me cutting out pieces of felt and stitching them together with embroidery floss. My mom did this craft with her art club kids a while back and I've been wanting to join in the fun too!

I was originally inspired by these which I saw on pinterest. I love the fabric they used, maybe that will be on the next one I make ;)

Whoopsie

Someone...ahem...Me...forgot to do a little favorite things round up, so without further ado.......
With all the fashion week buzz lately, I have been getting really inspired clothing wise. Although, these aren't all from fashion week, I've been inspired by so many clothing looks lately anyways. Did that make sense? I don't know, but here are some looks I'm dying to try to emulate.

Converse put out polka dotted shoes. I'm in love. Truly.

Edward Scissorhands paper art! Genius.

I don't know if this is a favorite or not, but I pinned this picture something like 25 weeks ago (or at least that's what pinterest tells me!) but lately its been repinned like crazy! Its like the whole Disney Kisses pin epidemic a few weeks ago, only this time I think (I hope) I actually reach 1,000 repins. If it does, Madeline and I will throw a party! No seriously, we will haha.

I love me some Gidget! I don't know why but lately this has been running through my head nonstop. At least its a perfectly lovely song to have stuck in my head!

Well, that's it for some favorites folks! Have a good weekend!

Happy Valentimes Day!!!

Happy Love Day all!!!! Not only is it Valentines Day, but its also my last day of being 18! Wahoo! Anyways, here's what I wore this gorgeous lovey dovey day.

Clearly I'm thrilled to be taking outfit photos haha
Outfit Details:
Sweater: Forever 21
Skirt: Forever 21
Tights: JcPenny
Flats: Old Navy

And now for the part of the blog post where I share some cute Valentine lovies from across the web. All photos can be found via my pinterest. But um, yeah. Here's an adorable vintage valentine...any knitter like myself would love it!

Here's this cute valentine's tutorial from Elsie! She is always the best!

Why is everyone I'm following on pinterest pinning things of this nature?! Its like they know what's happening in my life!

Another blogger fav, Meredith, shared this red velvet doughnut recipe this week. What a perfect idea for a valentine's breakfast!

So I found this website which is pretty much the black market for cheap adorable clothing. And I stumbled across this little cutie. Now this is what I wish I was wearing on Valentine's Day!

And a little love song for your pleasure! Did you know that this EP (which launched the band) was a Valentine's present that Michael Angelakos made for his girlfriend. Thank goodness for Valentine's day then, or else we wouldn't have Passion Pit!

Yeah, I know this whole post may be a little sappy, but that's what this day is about! Am I right? Yes, yes I am.

Music Mondays!

Did anyone see the vow this weekend? Well, this gal did! And the entire time I couldn't believe they played this great song by the National. I think the National is one of my top favorite bands for sure. They are tied with Death Cab and Passion Pit in my best of the best ever list. So, yeah...just listen to this song and marvel in their greatness. No really.

Good Hair Day= Good Day

February is in full swing here that's for sure! It is chilly outside! Brrr! So this is what I wear to keep warm! I've had this Paul Frank jacket since Freshman year of high school and its still going strong. I've also got Madeline's lovely purple knit scarf on because it keeps my neck nice and toasty!

A few years ago my mom stumbled across this seller at the farmer's market who made these felt pins and now we both sport owls on the lapels of our coats. And without fail every single day, someone comments on the owl pin! People always ask if I made it and sadly I cannot say I made this one. But it looks super easy to make so I'm thinking this weekend I'll try my hand at making a few of them!

Outfit Details:
Shirt: JcPenny
Dress: Target
Tights: Gap
Boots: Clarks
Belt: Forever 21

This outfit is super simple, but keeps me pretty warm. If there is one thing I learned from wearing a uniform in high school it is that sweater tights are your best friend. Also I feel like Maria from Sound of Music in this outfit. I really don't know why...maybe I just feel like a nun?! I don't know!

Also, despite the fact that today is the day I have to wear my hair up for dance, I'm having a great hair day. Jenny Lewis hair anyone?!

18 Years Old and Inspiration-less

Well, folks apparently I've hit a blogging wall. Not a fun blogging wall that's for sure. I just don't have time anymore. I just don't have time to make an outfit post. Or share my favorite things. Because the thing is I feel not only stressed out because of my schedule, but also I just feel inspiration-less.

Its like I can't even come up with any cute outfits or cool knitting projects. I just feel a little blah. And that's no fun. But its February which means one thing. Actually two. It means two things. The first thing being, its cold. Most days I just struggle to get out of my warm bed and brace the cold outside. And the other thing is my birthday. Its next week and I'm dreading it.

Its not that I dislike being a year older (although the fact that next year I'll be 20 is quite shocking), its just that I don't really like my birthday. I'm always busy this time of year with something or another and its so hard to be in a "yay, lets celebrate life" kind of mood. Not that life isn't fun, its just I don't don't really enjoy celebrating my birthday. Maybe if my birthday were a few months later I'd feel more inclined to throw a party or something of the sort. But its not.

I literally sound so unhappy right now, but really I'm not. I just don't like my birthday and the fact that its coming up makes me a little sad. Maybe its the idea that everyone expects me to be happy about my birthday that kind of depresses me. I'm not, so I feel the pressure of pretending to like my birthday which ultimately makes me dislike my birthday even more. Hmmm many thoughts to ponder. But here I am world. 18 years old and inspiration-less.

I think I'll go clean my room now.

We'll Call Her Nebraska

I believe in the power of clothes. There are just some clothes you can put on that instantly make your day better. This is one of those dresses. My mom got it for me for Christmas and I'm pretty sure its favorite dress. Ever.

I mean come on, how could you not fall in love with a red dress that reminds you of pushing daisies?!(Well at least that's what it reminds me of haha) It looks sort of retro too, which of course you all know I adore.

Outfit Details:
Dress- Modcloth
Tights- JcPenny
Shoes- Anthropologie

Also, these are my new Anthro shoes that I'm not sure have actually made an appearance on the blog yet. I went to the Anthropologie accessories store and they had a 50% all sale prices sort of sale, so I came away with these gorgeous oxfords for a mere $25. Clearly it was meant to be.

Well, hope your days went swimmingly! I know mine did (all because of my magical modcloth dress!)

Music Mondays

To say I'm obsessed with Kimbra's song "Settle Down" is a bit of an understatement. One of my friends posted this video to Facebook on Saturday night and about 50 seconds in I bought the song on itunes. This is a rare occasion folks. Also, this is the only song I've listened to since. Unless you count the Fleet Foxes Madeline has been playing. But as far as me choosing music to listen to, this has pretty much been it.

And can I just say the video is brilliant. Really reminds me of St. Vincent's video for "Cruel." I like creepy videos and this is definitely one of them. Enjoy!

A Few Of My Favorite Things

And now its time to close this awful day with a little round up of all of the things I've been loving on the web this week...

The fact that this sweater exits thrills me beyond belief. So if any one is wondering what to get me for my birthday *wink *wink

I literally cannot get over how beautiful this wedding is! I mean it is absolutely stunning! It made me want to wear my clarks with my future wedding dress. Will I actually follow through? Nah...

I usually hate pants. Like I try not to wear them that much because they aren't very flattering and I don't have any pants that I think are actually cool. But these.......these.....mmmm. I mean the colors+the polka dots. Yeah, I'd slip on a pair of these any and everyday.

I don't know why, but I'm just obsessed with this picture. I guess its cause there is something in me that wants to be really bad a and shoot guns. I should get PaPete to hook me up with a nice rifle or something. But really when I think about it, I guess I'm more attracted to the shoes than the actual gun thing. So much for being a rebel and shooting...

But if I ever want to do something rebellious I could always get a tattoo. I wouldn't because I'm deathly scared of needles, but I must admit I'm completely smitten with this kitten (I had to rhyme, I just had to) tattoo. I think that I might get weird looks from people if they asked what was behind the cat and I told them I saw it on pinterest and was inspired...

I stumbled across this adorable and completely inspiring blog this week. Its these two girls who showcase their college fashion. I'm completely in love with them, and now Madeline and I are batting around the idea of starting a blog like this together.

Oh! This is probably the video of my week. Maybe even my life. Madeline and I are obsessed!!! Watch it! I promise you will either think its hilarious or you will have nightmares.

And lastly, I've been on this Ingrid Michaelson kick all week. I think I'd forgotten how cheerful and wonderful her songs were. I was obsessed with her first album freshman year of high school, but I sort of lost touch with her music as the years went on. But now I'm back and trying to catch up on her lovely tunes.

Well, that's all folks! Lots and lots of lovelies from the week! All pics can be found via my pinterest!
