A Few Of My Favorite Things

I was seriously slacking on my favorite things post last week, but not this week! So without further ado...

I'm literally obsessed with everything in this picture.
It's Christmas time! Now I can listen to Christmas music and not feel guilty! I love Christmas and I can't wait to be done with school so I can go home and watch Christmas movies to my heart's content. We put up our trees before I left so now I'm officially pumped for the big holiday!
I'm in love with this! Not only do I think I'd rock this look (minus the ax and the flask), but I'm in love with how it was shot. It reminds me of the Burning House blog where people photograph what they would take with them if their house were on fire.
And last but not least. I'm obsessed with Friends. I mean, every time I just hear the theme song I get all happy inside! Love it!

Well, that's all folks!

What I Wore Today

Now here's a much more interesting outfit. I guess I was just feeling like a slave to the weather the past few days. Today I was feeling much more inspired!

Outfit Details:
Turban: Made by ME!
Shirt: Eddie Bauer
Sweater: Alloy
Jeggings: New York and Co.
Flats: Old Navy

Sometimes I rock the red lipstick look. People literally look at me like I am the weirdest thing they've ever seen. Do the words 'musical theatre major' mean nothing to them? Some people will never understand...

I will be back later with A Few of My Favorite Things! I haven't done one of those posts in a long time!

Happy Birthday Sadie!

See this girl...ITS HER BIRTHDAY!!!! Well, it will be in a few short minutes! So happy 19th birthday to my dear friend and kindred spirit, Sadie!

We've had some good times...yeah...I mean our friendship stemmed from us being in the same group at Nature's Classroom in the 5th grade and our conversations revolved around My Little Pony. It was a friendship destined to be.

We've been in plays together, endured every science class together, survived trips together (you know), broken rules together (again, you know), been to the good cup hundreds of times, gone shopping, driven around listening to music together, and skipped school together (Mrs. Wallace really likes me). All that to say that I really cherish and adore our friendship and I hope you have the happiest birthday. If I could I would bake you a cake (wow, I know...that shows how much I love you) and hang out with you all day, but I can't. So I hope this little sentiment makes up for the distance! Happy Birthday Boo Boo!

What I Wore Today

Now if we thought yesterday's outfit was dull....todays is ten times more boring! I'm sorry but it is just sooo cold. And something about the first cold makes me want to curl up and hibernate.

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Urban Outfitters
Leggings: Target
Boots: Target
Glasses: Raybans

And in the words of Spongebob...
The best time to wear a striped sweater,
Is all the time,
One with a collar,
Turtle neck,
Thats the kind,
Cause when you wwwweeeaaarrrr it,
That's one... special.... sweater.

Music Mondays

I almost completely forgot music mondays! Eeek! Good thing I remembered...
Okay, everyone might disown me for this, but my song choice for the week is Make Me Proud by Drake and Nicki Minaj. I know, this is very uncharacteristic of me...but I can't help it. I'm a Drake fan! It all started when he was on Degrassi....I know I know....
So to redeem myself a little, here's Afternoon by Youth Lagoon. This has been another favorite this week. Its definitely a little more me.

What I Wore Today

This isn't the most original of my outfits, I'll admit. But in my defense, it was cold. It was raining. Need I explain any more?

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Thrifted
Jeggings: New York and Co.
Boots: Target
Scarf: Made by ME!

Sorry for the boringness over here on the blog. Sometimes my life is boring. All I want to do is curl up and watch friends and knit. Oh did I just type that?! Why yes. Yes I did.

My Mom Makes Pretty Things Too...

I just have to share this little beauty really quickly...this is the spice cake my mom made for Thanksgiving this year. Isn't it gorgeous!

I love the little leaves and the acorns made out of pecans. So creative!

What I Wore Today

Now this is one of my favorite outfits. I have been wearing this combo for several years now and will continue to wear it because it reminds me of Marcia Brady and the Partridge Family. I love the 60's/70's and this outfit is clearly inspired by this era. Also, this look is very festive, hence why I'm wearing it to decorate our Christmas tree today before I go back to school.

Outfit Details:
Blouse: Charlotte Ruse
Jumper: Gift
Tights: JcPenny
Shoes (not pictured): Vintage loafers

Sometimes I wake up and my hair does funky things. Mostly my bangs do weird things. So then I do things like this with my hair. All of my friends at college wonder what I looked like pre-bangs, well here ya go. I'm way more partial to the bang look, but sometimes I rock this look when they just won't work. Oh, and I borrowed my sister's headband to keep my hair a little more under control.

I have to say that I am quite proud of how many posts I managed to put up over the break without my computer. Pretty impressive eh?!

What I'm Up To...

All I want to do is listen to my records...

I'm knitting up a storm these days. This is going to be infinity scarf #2. I'm also working on a HUGE project, but I'm not ready to share the progress on that just yet...

I'm currently reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern. My sister and my Dad both read it and only had complimentary things to say about it so I thought I'd give it a whirl.

I don't know why, but my sister and I always jump on the tv show bandwagon way behind everyone else. This weekend we've been watching old reruns of Friends and absolutely loving it! I think we just dismissed the show as an adult show because we grew up with our Mom watching it, but now we are big fans too. Loving the magic of the 90's.

Well, folks that's what I'm up to this fine day!

Finished Product!

Last week, I was working on an infinity scarf and I finally finished it last night! I'm not 100% in love with it, but I think its kind of fun. I've thought of several ways to tweak this pattern for the future. Now I'm working on another one, but the yarn is thicker and it will probably turn out better. But for now, I'm satisfied with my very first infinity scarf!

Turkey Time!

Well, I'm afraid that with no wireless internet at my house, there won't be too many posts from me this Thanksgiving week. But maybe that's for the best. I'm looking forward to a good week filled with crafts, knitting, family, food, and friends. I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Old Lady Craft Fair

Well, I figured you all would love to know how the craft fair went. All I can say was that it was probably one of the single funniest days of my entire college experience. Well, I might as well admit it.......it was an old lady craft fair. All the vendors were old people selling turkey aprons and weird jewelry. We thought it would be students who were selling things, but no, they were old ladies. And the funny thing was that all of the people who stopped by were old. Like we kept turning to each other and laughing because we couldn't figure out where these old people were even coming from! Madeline and I literally laughed the entire first hour of the craft fair! We didn't sell very well, but at least we got plenty of laughes out of it! I think our booth was adorable though!

Here are some of my headbands! I ended up selling all of my reds and oranges so I was left with a blue color palette in the end!

One of the best parts of the day were all the wonderful visitors we had! Lots of our friends came by (and a few made a few purchases!) Our friend Isaac came by, several times and we certainly enjoyed his company. This is him trying on one of my headbands. The best part was that Maddie said, "Isaac, the funny thing is that this actually looks like something you'd wear..."

I had to leave at some point and take an English test. But have no fear! Sebastian stopped by and kept Maddie company. When I came back he was sitting in my chair and I joked that he was being me. But actually he told me that while I was gone he tried to convince people that he made the headbands and some people actually believed him!

Overall, the day was a hoot! We enjoyed being crafty and selling our wares, but most of all we enjoyed the company of friends and the hilarity of the old lady craft fair!

What I Wore Today/ I Made A Turban!

This may be my new favorite outfit. Ever. I know this sounds silly, but clothes are just another way I'm able to express myself.

Outfit Details:
Turban: Made By ME!!
Blazer: Charlotte Ruse
Tank: Urban Outfitters
Jeans: American Eagle
Boots: Target

The BEST part of this outfit is the turban I made! I saw one of these at Urban for a whopping $30 and decided I could easily make one myself. So I did. I'm thinking a tutorial is in order!

I'm seriously obsessed with my little project! I've been making flower headbands for so long, that its nice to have a little change.

Oh, and I'm obsessed with my blazer. I got it a million years ago and its still going strong. I feel like that's the story of all of my favorite clothing items. Haha, oh well!

Music Mondays

I don't know why, but its a Passion Pit kinda day. One thing I'm thankful for is Michael Angelakos' gorgeous falsetto. When are they gonna put out a new album?!! I'm praying it will come for my birthday. That would be a nice present!

What I Wore Today

Today its my friend Ericka's birthday! So in celebration we are meeting up with friends in the park and then going out to dinner later. So this is the "day at the park" look. The weather could not be more perfect today!

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Old Navy
Shirt: Delias
Belt: Forever 21
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Converse

As you guys probably know, this is my favorite sweater. I mean, I probably wear it at least 3 times in a week! But I've never tried the belted sweater look before, so I thought I'd be adventurous and try it!

And what better to wear at the park than converse? I love my Chucks!

Hope your day is swell!

Sat And Forever Am At Work Here

If you ever watched Gilmore Girls and consider yourself a true fan, then you would recognize the title of this post. If not...well I don't know. Go watch more Gilmore Girls. It will make your life better.

Its the eve of the craft fair and what am I doing? Knitting of course! I stopped making the headbands earlier this week, and moved on to a new project. (Although I will probably be knitting headbands from now until Christmas!) I'm going to make an infinity scarf. You know, those fabulous circular scarves that  everyone is obsessed with right now. Yeah well, I'm knitting one!

All of my friends wanted me to teach them how to knit, so I did. But instead of making a crappy first scarf, they all wanted to make infinity scarves. I realized that I had never made one before, so I decided to try my hand at it! Its no where near being done, but its getting there. No worries, I will for sure keep the blog updated on the progress. Now, off I go to...you guessed it, knit some more! Happy Crafting!

A Few Of My Favorite Things

I AM SO SORRY!! I seriously slacked last night and forgot to do My Favorite Things for the week. So without further ado, here they are...

I plan on getting really crafty over the Thanksgiving break, so expect some craft tutorials or pics of things I'm making. I'm obsessed with felt ornaments because felt is so easy to work with!
I'm currently in the process of making an infinity scarf and I'm pretty excited. It isn't as fancy as this chunky cable knit one, but its a start. Maybe I'll do a post on my progress later.
I'm currently hard at work trying to make a Christmas list, and this is at the top of mine! This is one of my absolute favorite shows of all time! Plus Seth Rogen is in it! And James Franco, he's nice too...
Speaking of TV, I'm a little embarrassed to say this, but right now I'm loving Degrassi. I watched it when I was younger and this past week I've been indulging myself in the teenage soap opera. I don't know what it is about college, but I always want to watch movies and shows that I watched as a kid. Hmm, college makes me nostalgic? Well, needless to say, I'm addicted! I'm currently on season 3 and enjoying reliving the magic that is teenage angst.

What I Wore Today

IT IS COLD!!!!! Finally the cold weather has arrived! So, I pulled out the sweater tights and the grandpa cardigan!

Outfit Details:
Sweater: Thrifted
Dress: Target
Tights: Gap
Boots: Target

Back when I had to wear a uniform to school, sweater tights became my lifesaver. Of course didn't wear these fab green ones, but still. These are the prettiest green and they add just the right pop of color to any outfit. I didn't get any weird looks today because of my tights, so maybe these are more socially acceptable as opposed to my red orange ones.

I found this sweater at Goodwill last weekend and I'm in love with it! I think I may sew different buttons on it when I go home. I don't know, just a thought. But seriously, I love this grandpa cardigan. Yeah, that's right, I look like I belong in a nursing home. But hey, if I have hobbies like a grandma, then I might as well dress like one!
