Lust List #1
Since rejoining Polyvore, I'm figuring out the many ways I can use this wonderful site. One idea I had was to show you some "Lust Lists" which are basically some lovely wishlists. Here's my first one!
1. A pretty dress from Madewell that can transition from Summer to Fall.
2. Wide Angle Lens cameras rock! And this one takes 35 mm film, which is easy to find and easy to develop as well.
3. Bon Iver on vinyl. I go through seasons of being obsessed with this album and seasons of being sick of it. Currently I can't get enough. This would be a wonderful album to own.
4. Washi Tape! Oh the crafts I could do with this baby...
5. Clogs or Sweedish Hasbeen-like shoes. Aren't they divine? Sigh.
6. A vintage brooch featuring two of my favorite woodland creatures, the squirrel and the deer. (Its me and Madeline!)
Back into the Saddle
As camp is dwindling down (actually I have one more week), I'm slowly trying to get back into my old routine, especially here on the blog. And also with my crafting. I've picked up knitting again (did I every really stop? haha) For a while I've been working on this robin's egg blue scarf and I think it turned out quite nice! Keep crafting folks! I know I will!

Colonial Crafts with Annie!
So, I'm not exactly sure if I've shared this on the blog yet, but I have a new craft obsession...Needle point crafts. I started this back at the end of the school year and I've been hooked ever since. I learned to cross stitch when I was a little girl, but I hadn't really done it since. But now its become my new knitting (don't worry, I'm still knitting away). So I thought I'd share some of my recent projects...
Ah! The very first project! The squirrel was way too much fun. I didn't finish it until yesterday though. I had finished the squirrel part while at school, but it wasn't until yesterday that I finished the lettering. I guess I was just slow moving on that one haha!
I loved the Katniss arrows (at least that's what I called them) because they were super cute but also easy to reproduce. Most of my patterns are on my computer so I have to lug my laptop everywhere I go when working on projects. This one, however, was different because once I did one arrow I could use it as a reference for the others making it the perfect project for on the go. I also did the majority of this one at camp which sort of holds special memories for me.
This is Madeline, my roommate. I talk about her an awful lot, but here she is in the flesh showing off her adorable embroidery deer! Isn't she the cutest! She's really good at free hand embroidery, which is something I'm trying to work on as well.
My "shooting star" I thought it was clever.
Tonight I tried my hand at a little embroidery. I don't think its great, but I'm just learning. Its all part of the process don't you know! Anyways, I thought I'd share some of my crafty adventures with you all! By the by, the title is actually a camp joke. Everyone sort of made fun of me and joked that I should lead an activity called "Colonial Crafts." Clever, very clever.

My Favorite Things?
Just so you all know, while I love Polyvore...this blog has not turned into me solely posting polyvore outfit collages. That's not it at all. Although I will admit I'm having enormous amounts of fun making them!
But just so you all don't lose interest and remember the glory days when I could blog nearly every day, I thought I'd bring back the posts that were what this blog is really about. Starting with a few of my favorite things...
Moonrise Kingdom. I'm sure you've all seen the movie, trailer, pictures, whatever. The point is...GO SEE THIS MOVIE! I seriously am obsessed and I've already seen it twice (hoping to go for a third time soon!) But I must say that this movie inspired me so much. The story was so great, and yes every two seconds you are thinking "Gosh, this is so Wes" but it captured my heart and attention. Now I'm longing for penny loafers and knee socks (so look out for some outfit posts haha). Just please, go see this movie!
I've never been a huge fan of hi-low skirts. But a couple weeks ago I bought one. A subtle hi-low skirt, but still. Now I'm starting to see more and more that I think I would actually like. Case in point...this gorgeous dress. Now here's a dress I could actually see myself wearing.
This squirrel print is to die for. So much so that I think I may have to get it for my apartment with Madeline.
Ed Westwick. Isn't he dreamy? Why wouldn't he be anyone's favorite?
I just adore everything about this room. I'm pretty sure that its a little girl's room, but I don't care. If I could live there I'd be perfectly happy.
The new Passion Pit album is coming out soooooo soon and I can hardly wait! So I HAD to share this single they've already released! I can barely contain my love for this song! Give it a listen, it won't disappoint!
Well folks, thanks for bearing with me as I try to get back into the swing of things with this blogging thing. I hope everyone is having a swell summer!

In Cold Blood
This outfit is so smart. Every thing from the timeless watch to the pointy toe shoe. And the glasses of course, a lady never goes with out her smart specs. I could live in this dress! I wish it could be mine. Also, I have no idea why I associate Truman Capote with this look, but it made sense in my head at the time! This look would be the perfect look for school, work, church...anything really. The dress isn't overly fancy which allows you to be able to dress it up or dress it down for any occasion. Also, the robins egg blue clutch is to die for!

Franny and Zooey
I've started up Polyvore again. And I'm trying to get back into the blog again. I just feel like I'm in a bit of a style rut because of this awful heat. I feel like everything I put on looks terrible because after 5 minutes outside, I'm sweating buckets. So that leaves me to sit in the house. A lot. And all that sitting in circulated air conditioning gets me thinking. And I'm thinking that I want to do more things with the fashion portion of this blog. And something I want to incorporate is Polyvore sets. I've sort of always wanted to be a stylist, and Polyvore kind of allows me to put together outfits that I would totally wear, but I just can't afford. I'm not getting rid of outfit of the day posts at all, I just want to contribute to them and show how I can style pieces that I don't own in addition to the ones I do. I like clothes. And to me its art. So here is my art. Here are the things that I love. I look at this set and I see myself 100%. I have a certain style and its very unique and I look forward to being able to express it in a new way. This blog will start hopping again I promise!
