What I Wore Today

Today my friends commented and said that I looked like Nancy Drew. And considering that she is one of my fashion icons, I took the compliment and ran with it. I got this dress at Forever 21 this weekend (I know, I couldn't believe it either) while I was home. What a find!

Oh, and I would like to apologize for the horrible quality pictures. I don't have a camera (other than a polaroid and disposable camera) so for now, my macbook will just have to do. But here's the dress a little  more close up. I'm in love with the vintage feel of this dress. The first thing it actually reminded me of was a dress in White Christmas that Judy wears.

A Few Of My Favorite Things

So, I thought it would be fun to share a few of my favorite things so that you, wonderful reader, could get to know me a little better! Here are 18 of my favorite things. Why, 18? Because that's how old I am! Onward ho!

1) Theatre. I am a musical theatre major and loving every minute of it! I adore the life of the stage and I hope to do it for the rest of my life.

2) My Bike! Isn't she a beauty? Mint green and cream...mmm dreamy.

3) Squirrels. Obviously according to my blog titles, I have a soft spot in my heart for squirrels. Also I can speak squirrel.

4) Raccoons are my other woodland creature love. I really want a pet raccoon someday. I know, I sound like a crazy person, but ever since I saw the commercial about the woman who thinks she's letting in her dog, but really its a coon. Ah I love them!

5) I love Wes Anderson movies. My Dad is a huge fan and turned me on to his movies. Gimme some futura font and the rolling stones. Gimme some Wes Anderson.

7) I am learning to play the banjo. I have this crazy idea that I'm going to start a banjo rock band where instead of guitars, there are banjos. Its going to be called Bible Kiss Bible. Why? Watch Gilmore Girls and you will know what I'm talking about.

Doodle-de-do

My roommate, Madeline draws these adorable doodles of the two of us and our friends Dillon and Isaac. The above one is a vignette of me and all my quirks. I just think these are such great depictions of our adventures and personalities.

This one is from the night we all went camping. Dillon thought it would be fun to go to the pond and shout expecto patronum just like in Harry Potter. Needless to say, he was the most enthusiastic of the group.

This one is from the night we made butter beer and watched disney movies. Dillon and I were really stoked about making butter beer, but Madeline and Isaac were just two bumps on a log.

This is my personal fav. I mean, this is how we all met: in music theory class. And this doodle includes our teacher Professor Herman. Anyways, I just thought I would share her delightful cartoons!

You Make Beautiful Things

I love knitting! Its one of my favorite creative pastimes and its become sort of a stress reliever. Now that I'm in college, I seem to have so much free time to knit (go figure!). Its great. I've been knitting up a storm since I started university in the fall. But I thought I'd share one of my current projects.

Its a simple knit 2, purl 2 scarf. Only instead of starting over the knit 2, purl 2 at the end, I just do whatever I did at the end at the beginning. Like, if I end on purl 2, I start the next row with purl 2, knit 2 etc. I hope that makes sense (if not, oh well). I'm using this great valentine-y yarn I picked up at JoAnns a few months back. It is Martha Stewart brand yarn and I'm loving it! I think its 100% roving wool. YEAH NATURAL FIBERS!! Anyways, I'm about halfway through this scarf, but I just thought it would be fun to post my progress.
