Owl Always Love You

Soooo....I went home this weekend which can only mean one thing...CRAFTS! I made this cutie patootie owl ipod case this afternoon and I'm in love with it!

Its not perfect (I don't have enough patience) but I kind of like that its a little uneven and the stitching is a little wonky. This was a super easy craft! I mean, most of it was just me cutting out pieces of felt and stitching them together with embroidery floss. My mom did this craft with her art club kids a while back and I've been wanting to join in the fun too!

I was originally inspired by these which I saw on pinterest. I love the fabric they used, maybe that will be on the next one I make ;)

Merry Christmas...in January?

So I'm going back to school today! Classes don't start until Monday, but I want to get there unpack, prepare for class, and catch up with my friends. So for my gorgeous girlfriends I knew I had to come back with a cute crafty late Christmas gift. Thus, the journal idea. My mom had these journals on hand and I decided to spice them up!

Much cuter don't you think?!

Each book has the heart cut from scrapbook paper and the initial of the girl who is receiving the gift. Then I wrote Romans 12:2 around the first page.

I also made some in red too! I think these will be perfect for photo albums, small scrapbooks, art journals, writing...whatever fits their fancy. I'm so pleased with how they turned out!

Crafting Gone Wrong

See this adorable squirrel from a glove tutorial. Well, I tried it and it was a complete fail.

Halfway through my squirrel looked like a voo doo doll. Maybe I'm just a bad crafter (nah!) but this pinterest craft was a complete disaster.

Old Lady Craft Fair

Well, I figured you all would love to know how the craft fair went. All I can say was that it was probably one of the single funniest days of my entire college experience. Well, I might as well admit it.......it was an old lady craft fair. All the vendors were old people selling turkey aprons and weird jewelry. We thought it would be students who were selling things, but no, they were old ladies. And the funny thing was that all of the people who stopped by were old. Like we kept turning to each other and laughing because we couldn't figure out where these old people were even coming from! Madeline and I literally laughed the entire first hour of the craft fair! We didn't sell very well, but at least we got plenty of laughes out of it! I think our booth was adorable though!

Here are some of my headbands! I ended up selling all of my reds and oranges so I was left with a blue color palette in the end!

One of the best parts of the day were all the wonderful visitors we had! Lots of our friends came by (and a few made a few purchases!) Our friend Isaac came by, several times and we certainly enjoyed his company. This is him trying on one of my headbands. The best part was that Maddie said, "Isaac, the funny thing is that this actually looks like something you'd wear..."

I had to leave at some point and take an English test. But have no fear! Sebastian stopped by and kept Maddie company. When I came back he was sitting in my chair and I joked that he was being me. But actually he told me that while I was gone he tried to convince people that he made the headbands and some people actually believed him!

Overall, the day was a hoot! We enjoyed being crafty and selling our wares, but most of all we enjoyed the company of friends and the hilarity of the old lady craft fair!

What I've Been Up to Lately...

All I do these days is eat, sleep, breath, crochet. Oh yeah, and school. But mostly crochet. This friday there is going to be a craft fair at my school and Madeline and I are going to have a booth! She's going to sell her hair bows and I'm going to sell these! I've been working feverishly because I didn't really have enough to sell. They are a great deal at only $10 each!

I get TONS of compliments on my personal headband, so I'm hoping to do well at the craft fair. I also take special orders! Want a certain color? No problem! I will make exactly what you want! I love being crafty!
