I Told You I Loved Menswear!

 Blech, can it rain anymore?! Where's the warm sunny spring weather? Although I will say that in this pic, I look pretty darn happy about it. But trust me, I'm not. I hope to never see another rain cloud again! At least not when I have to walk to class.

I'm just counting down the days until summer over here! I'm ready to get to camp and hang out with my amazing friends. I'm slightly over the whole "school" thing. And by slightly over, I mean I'm thinking about summer 90% of the time. Does anyone else feel like this is the never-ending semester?

A Few of My Favorite Things

 Fashion Fave: Menswear. Folks, this is like my new thing. Lately I've been dreaming of oxfords, trousers, blazers, and all things menswear inspired. Maybe it has something to do with my recent acquisition of overalls. I don't know, but I'm loving this trend.

 If you've read my blog for a while, you know that I LOVE my Clarks. Especially the Dessert Boots. I have the flat ones and the heeled ones and I think they are my can't-live-without shoe. So naturally I flipped when I saw these black and white ones!

 Craft Fave: I'm in love with this scrap book page. Aren't the colors and patterns cool?! 

 Inspiration Fave: When I first saw this picture, I squealed with delight. I just want to find a cute boy that will sit next to me and read. This would be adorable for an engagement shoot or something along those lines.

Home Fave: Open shelves in kitchens. I think it's the best way to show off your pretty dishes and make a room seem bigger than it actually is. In my someday home, I'm totally going to do this to my kitchen.

Music Fave: Tame Impala. Guys, you just don't even know. I used to be really into this band when I was in high school, but recently I've gotten back into them. Give this song a listen, it won't disappoint!

Go Backwards

 You know those weekends that you never want to end? And you can't stop thinking about because it was so awesome? Yeah, well this weekend was one for the books. Friday after work my Mom and I went treasure hunting and I picked up the items above! 

 Friday night we drove in maybe the worst traffic ever. But its okay because we survived! 

 Saturday morning was splendid because we had tea and crepes at our favorite Coffeehouse in town!

 Apple Pie crepes. That's all I have to say. 

We did go to a egg dying party, but we went against the system and painted eggs as well. As you might have seen in my last post, we did so many crafts to decorate the living and dining room for Easter lunch. I did get slightly tired of making pom poms, but it was fun nonetheless. 

I wish I had more pictures from more of our Easter weekend, but alas, this is where I leave you. I hung out with wonderful friends, watched Donnie Darko (that's an Easter movie right?!), hardly slept at all, received goodies from the Easter bunny, and ate the loveliest food. Ahhh, I wish I could relive it all! Oh well, you can't go backwards in life!

Painting Eggs and Taking Names

 Happy Easter everyone! I thought I'd share a few pictures from my family's lovely Easter lunch. Every year we have Easter at my grandparent's house, but this time around we mixed it up and hosted it at my house. My mom and I got wayyyyy to into making things look pretty, but that's part of all the fun right?

 Our lovely main table :) We even broke out the nice china!

 For the centerpiece we put some flowers and moss in a vintage cheese box that we had around the house. I think it looks lovely!

 You can't see it THAT well, but I made a pom pom garland to hang in the window.

 Even the kid's table looked elegant with a wheatgrass centerpiece.

 We made these paper flowers to hang in the window out of kraft paper and scrapbooking paper. Gorgeous right?

 My mom even pulled out some clay bunnies that my sister and I made in Elementary school for display. 

 Much to my mom's dismay I brought out the Chrysanthemum bunny. And we made a little terrarium with moss. Also, displayed is a lovely piece of depression glass passed down from my Great Grandmother.

Hope everyone's Easter was absolutely marvelous! I know mine was!

Not Waiting Any More!

 Remember how two days ago I was lusting after spring? Well its here folks! Today the sun was shining, the birds chirping, and I didn't have to wear a coat! It was absolute bliss.

 Acting class let out early so the fab four headed downtown to our favorite coffee shop for yummy drinks and rousing games of Uno. Afterwards, Fiona and I explored the square a bit for some lovely photos. Can we just marvel at how blue the sky is?!

 I'm normally really bad at mixing prints, but today I just sort of went for it! I'm branching out guys!

This is my "I'm a happy camper" face. Its because its finally spring. And I don't feel like dying because I have to wear a coat. Blue skies really do things for a gal! I hope everyone's easter weekend is lovely! 

Waiting for...Spring?!

 Where's spring?! Its already nearing the end of March and we've only had one day of actual spring weather that I can recall. We've had more snow in march than all the other months of winter, which is unheard of in these southern parts! My closet is getting bored. My spring clothes are anxiously waiting to see the light of day again. And I can't blame them!

 So...as you may have read above...I made this necklace. It was super easy, so easy that I didn't think it was worth a tutorial. I just painted some wooden beads from hobby lobby and strung them on twine for a rustic look. I really don't know how to wear jewelry but I always see pretty statement necklaces on Pinterest and I'm fascinated with them. I decided to try my hand at one and am pretty pleased with the results. Now the challenge is to incorporate more jewelry into my clothing routine more often!

I guess I better get used to wearing this coat for a while longer. The weather forecast doesn't seem to be letting up any time soon. Happy winter/spring! See ya when the sun shines!
